Short film scripts for students – some free for download now

Looking for short film scripts for students on a budget? As in, “I need short film scripts for class”?

I can help. I have short scripts available quickly, easily, and (some of them) free.

They are Creative Commons licensed, which means you can use them as long as you give me writing credit. (The PDFs explain how to do that. It’s easy. I promise.)

Each of these screenplays can be filmed on a low budget, and some of them with no budget at all (assuming you have some sort of camera, something to edit with, and people to act in front of the camera).

It’s pretty simple.

If the free ones don’t fit what you need, you can rewrite the screenplays to suit your needs, if you share the writing credit with me. You also don’t owe me royalties for the use of these screenplays.

If you need something in a different film genre, not a film trailer, or some other structure for your own ideas, I’ve got a book length collection of short film screenplays in various film genres, examples of different movie plot devices and such.

26 Short Screenplays for Independent Filmmakers is easy to buy from Amazon.com and Lulu.com. If you’re in a hurry or don’t want to pay for shipping to your country, you can get all 26 screenplays as an ebook on Lulu.com.

It goes without saying that I don’t endorse your use of my work for any purpose that would be considered plagiarism at your school, nor in any ways that have been forbidden by the rules of your specific teacher or class. Teachers are aware of this book (some are using it in their classrooms) so don’t take the chance.

Happy filmmaking, and good luck with your studies!
